The Scorpion is probably the rarest of Classical Anatolian
designs, there are only four of these carpets known in the
world. Like the better known
Lotto, Small Pattern Holbein, the Star and Medallion designs, this carpet has an
incredible lifelike, almost anthropomorphic quality that draws us into it's geometry.
We are excited about making this carpet again--we are calling
our first version of it the "Fifth
Scorpion". This carpet measures approximately 46"x81"
(pile only). It was woven in Simav by Behiye Cengiz and
completed in February 2009. |
